When life hands you lemons.. shut up and eat your goddamn lemons. Regardless of what PhiladelphiaUnion.com might try to say we did NOT make lemonade tonight. We hung unto a playoff birth for dear life.. and honestly after that first half I am not even sure we deserve to be in the playoffs.
That being said.. I am glad the UNION showed some heart and decided to make a game of it, but why couldn’t they come out of the gate with that kind of determination? Was it not a big enough game for us until we went down 3-1 in the first 25 minutes? Is it not enough that we haven’t won since July 17th at New England? Is it not enough that we haven’t won at PPL Park since June 25th against Chivas USA. What does it take to get this team fired up?
Union manager Peter Nowak admitted that his team “looked like an expansion team” in the first half. And the Philly players agree: “When you are playing at home, you should never give up four goals,” said Freddy Adu.
Will we make the playoffs? I honestly have NO idea. Are we scared? No. You can’t scare us we’re sticking to the UNION til the day we die. What do we do now? We drink the KOOL-Aid and repeat the mantra as we rock back and forth like crazy people… IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST! IN NOWAK WE TRUST!
