MLS All-Stars v. Manchester United

2011 MLS All-Star Game

26,760 people filled Red Bull Arena to watch the MLS All-Stars take on Manchester United in the 2011 MLS All-Star Game.  You read that right.. Red Bull Arena was SOLD OUT… and all it took was the MLS All-Stars and a visit from one of the biggest clubs in the world Manchester United.

Sadly that is the good news.  On the pitch Hans Backe coached the MLS All-Stars like he coached New York Red Bull in the Playoffs… Not very well.  In the stands Red Bull Supporters chanted like it was a New York Red Bull home game… Not very loud.

Manchester United have now beaten the MLS All-Stars each of the last two seasons by a combined scored of 9-2…  Still not as EMBARASSING as the Seattle Sounders losing to Manchester United 7-0.

  1. They should have played this at New Meadowlands Stadium. Hey, maybe next year, the MLS XI vs. Liverpool at The Linc!
