Philadelphia Union v. NE Revolution

Sheanon Williams aka The Sheanomenon

The MLS may not want to admit it, but the Philadelphia Union are 1st place in the Eastern Conference.  We may not be represented in the MLS All-Star Game, but we are represented where it counts… in the standings.

Carlos Ruiz is making it very hard for all the HATERS out there on Facebook and Twitter.   He came back with a fire in his belly and managed to get the UNION on the scoreboard in the 12th minute.  It was his 6th goal of the season.  Welcome back “El Pescadito!”

Black Sunday: In the 16th minute the New England Revolution Supporters Groups The Rebellion and The Midnight Riders staged a protest against their Front Office and walked out of the match.  WE SUPPORT THE FORT!

The Union continued to dominate possession and chances in the 1st half and got on the board for a second time when Carlos Valdes (who was playing in the attacking end ALL NIGHT) latched on to a Le Toux header and drove it home in the 24th minute.

The NE Revolution showed some signs of life in the 2nd half, but not enough.   The Philadelphia Union were determined to take home all 3 points on the road.  In the 93rd minute Sheanon Williams aka The Minister of Defense aka The Sheanomenon put icing on the cake with his 1st ever goal for the UNION.  The Minister of Defense looked like The Minister of Offense for a minute.   Will the Front Office give this kid a raise already!?

P.S. Benny Feilhaber is a DOUCHE BAG and I commend the Philadelphia Union Front Office for not signing him. DOOP.

P.P.S. Taylor Twellman probably made his most intelligent remark about a Philadelphia Union game when Mark Sakers got him to MEOW on live television.

DIARY OF AN MLS CONVERT

Samuel Paul Barker of Major League Soccer UK

Well hello there, for those who didn’t read last week, my name is Sam and I DOOP from across the pond, from the UK. I put my thoughts and opinions on the Union, and MLS in general, onto my friend Glenn’s website Major League Soccer UK – it’s ace. This week’s edition should be up on Wednesday.

This week; I’ve loved The River Cup. I have loved out 3-0 win and clean sheet. I have loved Feilhaber’s massive failure and I have loved mid-season friendlies. Not really on the last one, I don’t get matches against foreign teams during the season. It’s unheard of in the Premier League. That’s probably why I don’t get it really, I’m set in my ways!

Hope you enjoy!

Love Kyle Nakazawa making fun of Ruiz’s little goal celebration at the 19th second of the first video.
