Last year the SONS OF BEN did an AMAZING job performing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall for Sporting KC Coach Peter Vermes who was arrested for drunk driving in late August of 2010.
This year I was hoping we could add a new chant to compliment 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.

One of the most successful soccer players out of the Delaware Valley. Legitimate “home grown” product as you like to say. He makes one mistake in his life and the SOB’s repeatedly taunt him for it. Get a life…oh that is your life singing songs at Union games….sorry I forgot.
Peter is one of the nicest guys I’ve met in my life. Not so much with the majority of SOB “members”.
And the SOB’s wonder why other fans in the stadium despise them. Reason #89 on the list.
I just thank GOD he didn’t kill anyone during his “one mistake” behind the wheel.
JeffreyM, I’m sure you’ve never ever ever driven just at or over the limit. Right? I’m sure you don’t know any SOB that leaves a Union game that shouldn’t be driving because they might blow a .08 because they’ve had a few beers at the game, right? Pot meet Kettle.
Nothing like a bunch of drunk SOB’s “preaching” to somebody about alcohol. Look in the mirror.
You are right, thank god nothing happened. He admitted he made a huge mistake, but let’s stay classless and taunt him for it for the rest of his life.
And on another note, good thing the SOB’s stayed classless yet on another occasion by booing Bobby Convey when he came on the field during the San Jose game. He’s another player from the DE Valley. But let’s boo him too because we are idiot SOB fans.
I don’t drink and drive. But I am sure there are LOADS of people leaving PPL Park every Saturday over the limit. We in Section133 are NOT Sons of Ben (a few of us are) and we didn’t participate in the “99 Bottles of Beer” chant. We also did not BOO Bobby Convey or say “SUCKS” after his name was read off during the starting lineups. I think Peter Vermes is a role model and therefor held to a higher level of accountability. I think he did the crime.. the fans are entitled to let him hear it. We won’t do it in 133, but what the rest of the stadium does is up to them. If you would like to write a blog voicing your dislike of those said SOB practices and chants I would gladly post it on the website. We can even keep it anonymous like your comments.
